Howdy folks,

Been readin about one of my great grandad's old tractors and got to wonderin about it. He had an IHC Titan 10-20 (I never got to see it since it was traded in a long time ago). They had a two cylinder engine thats set up horizontally. What did these tractors sound like? Did they sound similar to JD's or did they have their own distinct sound. Also, are there any left out there? I'd love to find one so I could have one like my great grandad had. Well, thanks for helping out friends. God bless.

Here's one at a dealer in Spanish Fork, Utah. You could probably buy it for the right price....bucks....big bucks or maybe CUBIC BUCKS! More from that dealership on the link.

Like Red Dave says the even-firing Titan has a steady exhaust beat - as opposed to the JD's staccato exhaust sound.

However since both crank throws are together on the same side of the crankshaft, the 2 cylinder Titan engines are poorly balanced. Thus the tractors SHAKE & VIBRATE like no other I've ever seen!

There's still some running Titans still out there - not unusual to see/hear one or two of 'em at larger old iron shows.

No, they do not sound like a John Deere. They run smoothly.
There are Titans at many tractor shows. I don't know where you are, but the Old Thresherman's Reunion at Rough & Tumble in Kinzers PA usually has a couple of them.
