i am not sure how big the crack is but you can try welding it, but the reason it is cracking may be because were it bolts to the engine is not flush, when you bolt it down it will be fine but as it heats up and cools down it may crack again. i would try to weld it but i would be carefull because when you weld it, it will pull the crack together which may be enough not to alow it to bolt back up. hopefully that was a little helpful. tractor.

I welded up the manifold tonite, Its not very fancy but if its not cracked tommorow morning it will do the job. Its just a work tractor, not realy concerned about look.

I heated with torch then tried using nickle welding rod wasn't working the best, then i switched to 7018 rods, got better. Then i cut up an old file and welded over crack, it welded realy well, hopefully this solves my problem.

Thanxs

JR, Epoxy repairs won't stand the heat . Let the arc welder set on the shelf and get out the torch. Use oxy/acet cast iron weld , it comes in square rod in several sizes (sometimes round) and is used with flux . The rod is the same material as the manifold , it will give you a a weld that matches the strength , material , and color of the base material . here is a link to some repairs .

Just buy a new one, they don't cost that much,
probably cheaper than getting a professional
welder to fix it.

We have welded many manifolds with great sucess.Grind the crack out a little if it is in more than one peice you will have to do this on the tractor. Then using nickel welding rod tack it. Then take it off the tractor and heat it up. build a fire or something,we use our out door wood furnas. After it is hot pull it out finish welding it while it is hot then throw it back in th fire, let fire go out with it in there. good luck

I have learned that propane weed burners are really good for preheating, because the heat is more spread out and is somewhat lower temperature.
