Hi Tony,

Here is what I feel is the proper adjustment for a tricycle front end. That door should never come open.

I've heard rumors to the effect that tricycle front ends make great boat anchors too. :>)

Smile,

Allan

They have caster to has a tendency to self steer straight. The camber makes steering easier by getting the two tire to ground contact areas closer together. Also helps keep mud squeezed and then dropped out.

Sounds like the bearings are torn up or just missing. They should be closer at the bottom than at the top.

tony, all the narrow front tractors I've been around have just the opposite, closer at the bottom, farther apart at the top.

Now that you're on your feet(grin) ALL steering gear is built with caster including your automobile products. It may be more noticeable when the wheels are so close but stand back and look at a properly alighed standard front you'll see the same tilt.

Several reasons.

MUCH easier to steer when they are as close as possible on the bottom.

Keeps the steering from wobbling.

Mud falls out as it rises up the back side.
