Hi, New to John Deere and Tractor restoration. Have a crack at obtaining an "M". Runs great and only has 1 hydro leak. Anything I need to heed when further checking out the tractor? I know something is only worth what your willing to pay for it, but what is the price range of "M"s?

Thanx,Ken...stuck in the mud up to my hub

should pto be real loose? I can turn very easy by hand and you can slide it in and out.

Ken, I have two M's and really enjoy them. One is a 1948 that when I bought it had excellent sheetmetal, a factory #30 loader with two buckets, and an M-1 plow. The motor was however stuck. I paid $950.00 for the package. The second is a 1949, runs super, sheetmetal good except for a wrinkle in the grill. This one I paid $1500.00 for, and have raked a lot of hay with it.
The only kicker is they are a pain to get on and off. Once I am perched in the seat, I want to stay there until the job is done!

Thanks Aaron,
I can see getting afflicted by "the hard to get off "M". Appreciate response.

Is tin available for M's? Rear rims?
