Has anyone had any experience with the Wagner airless paint sprayer called (Paint Crew) it holds 2 gal.of paint at a time. I know for around 200.00 I can't start a painting business, but for painting a tractor, or house will it do the job?

With practie they work good for the frame....just the cast parts. For sheet metal, they just shoot too much paint and are prone to runs. A good cheap touch up gun (I paid 19 bucks at BJ's) and a small water trap (10 bucks at Harboutr freight) and a Air compressor are all you need to do a nice job that will be better than factory paint. If you are looking to make your tractor shine like a new Corvette (that would be just silly), then you need more cash.

Take Care
Steve

My two experiences Stan, no joke. First Wagner sprayer was the $190.00 job, had two 5' hoses (one under pressure, one return into the bucket). Was selling a house, didn't feel like rolling. The supplied hoses are about 5' long - get yourself much, much longer ones from the hardware, and put weights on them. The somewhat ridged 5' return one came out of my 5 gallon paint bucket and I had paint all over the floor before I noticed it. Was a big mess. BIG MESS. I tossed it the same day I bought it. Then years later painting a metal shed with lots of ridges that the brush and roller weren't doing as well on. Hmm? Try another Wagner? I bought the $50 cheaper model without hoses. Did not like oil based paint (Rustolium) and clogged until I had the paint thinner than water. Tossed that one too, same day bought it. Now, I just use a brush and roller, or a compressor that I have for my compressor. I'd have kicked both Wagners, but didn't want to break a toe or foot. Good luck.

Airless guns work good for buildings, steel or wood, but I wouldn't try to paint anything fancy like a tractor. Houses would be a tossup. For big open areas it would be ok, but around windows ,shutters, and trim you would really have to watch out for overspray. Keep vehicles away that overspray can drift. I don't know about the new ones but the older ones will spray latex or oil. They would also spray that alum. asphalt roof spray for steel roofs.

They are fine if you are painting something that is wood, like a deck or fence, but they are not good for smooth metal serfaces. It looked too splatered when I tryed to paint metal garage doors with one. Plus they make alot of noise and it gets on your nerves. You can buy a pretty cheap regular paint gun that runs off of a compresser that would work 10 times better.

Most of those airless guns say for latex paint only. I'd check it out before I bought one.
