TEST, TEST, TEST..... .Been posting on here for well over a year with my own name and now it"s reserved by some other "Wayne". So from now on Wayne, the heavy equipment mechanic from NC will be "NC Wayne"...please don"t confuse me with the other guy whoever he is. I just can"t understand this name reserving business. One of the things I like about this site is the ability, of the majority of us, to pay attention to what"s going on and handle it without alot of "parental control". When I first started posting I looked through the pages to insure nobody else was using the same name and didn"t see any uses of my name in A Long time, so I figured it was safe and I went with it. Here recently I"ve seen a couple posts by another Wayne, who I assume is the one that reserved the name, that I haven"t seen before. Don"t get me wrong, it"s not that big of a deal to change my name, but to me it"s just poor ettiquite to jump in and take a handle for yourself,(even if it is your name) that somebody else has been using for as long as I"ve been using it..... . Just my .02 for what it"s worth....

Adding your state probaply in most cases makes your name unique enough to keep and it is interesting to know where folks are from.

Tractor town has one Registered "Wayne" of 1283 Registerants and he is from Salina Ks. not N.C. and what does this have to do with Tractors anyway?

Answer your own post with the name squirrel for example and type test in the text box.

Push the "submit follow up" window and in the upper right corner is what you are looking for.

So you're saying you have to post a message, even if it is a useless one, just to reserve a user name that you might use when you are ready to post something of signifcance in the future? Why don't they just let you register your name without posting a B.S. message?

Anyways, this name registration process should go a long ways in reducing some of the problems that have been alluded to here. I remember a few years ago registration was a dirty word on this site and some posters were strongly opposed to it, so now we are easing into it. Well, we can see it is a necessary evil and most other sites likes agriculture.com now require registration before you can post.

I didn"t have to post to reserve the name. Just had to get the submittal screen likin I was gonna post. If you hit the submit box a second time you will post.

Don"t have a clue why it"s set up this way, course these computers are magic to me. I"m an analog electronics guy. I know that each key on the keyboard is a digital work (code) that goes to a certain spot to do a certain function, but it"s the display that gets me. How do you convert 1"s and 0"s into a picture..... puzzling.

Course there may be another way, but I"m registered, happened this way so I"m not paying any more attention. Maybe someone else knows a better way.

I would encourage guys to think up unique names that would be easy for the rest of us to identify with and remember. that being said, There are only 29 different boards on this site and some of them I never have been on. Who knows how many "Waynes" could have been using them?

I agree with making the name/handle unique. After getting nasty grams from Jim in NM, I changed mine. He was saying that people were thinking it was him instead of me. I had changed, and was using Jim now in NM. Because I am no longer living in the UK, but living in New Mexico.

No Choice in the matter. I was here in NM from 93 to 97 and got an assignment to England. Came time for me to leave, and this was one of the two choices I had. Where at in Texas are you? I grew up in So. Texas, and my father is now living on a small farm in Central Texas near Waco.

LOL, no my Dad is not living in Crawford. He has a farm 20 miles Northeast of Waco near Mt Calm. I spent five years at RAF Lakenheath. Not knowing how long it was since you were there, RAF Upperheyford closed up in 91 or 92 I think. I take it you were there with the F-111E's? Sure would be nice to walk down to the Pub for a pint. It's been a long day, and next week is going to be a lot of fun.
