Well, it certainly does look nice, but is out of my price range for sure. Maybe is one of those things that if you pay a lot for it up front, will pay for itself and more, down the road.

Then again, for the folks that can afford a Hummer to tool around in, but don't want what the Jone's have, and want to up the Jone's one, would be perfect.

Saw a Ford F-600 years back that someone put a F-350 Dually bed on. Was the biggest all wheel drive dually pickup I'd seen. Looked nice, guy never got it dirty using. But looked nice.

Hope it works out well for those that can afford. For now at least, I'm stuck with a Cummins Dodge that works out ok.

why bother payin $90,000 for dat peace of **** I'm in Australia and drive a HZJ75 Landcruiser Ute that would beat da pants off da crap ute shown. Brandnew there bout $52,000 AU and it's dead easy to put a 7.2 litre turbo chevy diesel in it. I dunno why U yanks think big utes R day way to go when a cruiser will beat a yank ute any day.

The only thing I can see that the International has going for it is the DT466 engine, which has always been and still is a darn good engine. I'm not familiar with any GM 7.2 liter diesel.

Full-time RV'ers have long sought a heavier truck than the 1 ton pickups. The medium duty trucks such as you linked to, are outragously priced. There is a new industry that is expanding rapidly. They take an OTR tractor, convert the large sleepers into a mini-motorhome,remove one rear axle, replace the 10K lb air bags with 5K bags, remove the turning stops. The end result is a tow truck that will handle any fifth wheel RV while getting 10mpg, is licensed as an RV, has a tighter turning radius than most pickups, and has more HP(375-500) than any MDT. They also are exempt from DOT rules and do not require a CDL. This for around $35K for a conversion truck that will outlast any one non-commerical indivual.

Where's the line between pickup & med/heavy conventional? The CXT is just a med w/a pickup box.Wolf in sheep clothing. What about driver qualification, ability, licensing?Air brakes?Been jambing up com drivers with tests, permits & rules-Change the name and its ok? My guess it'll open a new can o's__t for states, lawyer's,public.

Now that I've had my fun.

My sister and brother-in-law are vagabonds (gypsies). They have a 350 powerstroke 4 door 4wd and a 30' 5th wheel. He added a new under carriage to the trailer (heavier) and put a rack on the back to carry his mechanics tools. He does mobile home/camper repairs in the parks where they stay..... pulling a heavy rig. Travels the USA so is exposed to all sorts of environments.

Has a life membership to 1000 trails.

He really needs more than the 350. A 450 or 550 would do him nicely. One has to assume that there are others that have a legitimite need for a bigger p/u and Detroit is finally listening..... with their wallets open (of course).

Detroit has been listening for a long time, it's just now they're building "yuppie-mini-semis", in addition to the medium-duty under-26,000 GVW trucks they've been building for a long time. If I needed something along that line in order to haul big loads, I'd be finding a good used Top Kick Lo-Pro with a 3126 Cat in it. They're good trucks, and probably go for half what that International lists for when new, let alone a used one. You could sure as heck buy one for less than what a new 1-ton pickup would run, and have twice the truck. It's just another niche truck for the boys with too much money.

You called that one right. In fact, between the hood and bed, it looks like a Hummer..... ..... .

I'll just stick to my Ranger! I'ts paid for and gets much better gas mileage. The one drawback though is it won't pull much of a trailer(4cyl)!

Just what we need. More ways for the mentally disadvantaged to commit road rage on their fellow driver.

Don't know what it is, but out of the last 4 wrecks on the interstate going to work, a Ford powerstroke diesel, 4wd, 4 door, mudder tires and jack kit was right in the middle.

Not that everyone is mentally disadvanted. Just seems to be a growing number of drivers headed in that direction that buy bulley vehicles.

Duck the flak that I know's comin.

Nuf said.

Its not about trucks. The mentally disadvantaged drive all sorts of vehicles, you just happen to notice the trucks more because they are big. Personally I think you should always drive the biggest vehicle you can afford. That way when some yoyo hits you your chances of survival are greater!

I do as you say. Drive Tahoe and full size P/u. Gas is not an issue. Have had too many friends canopened out of sub compacts; some went to the morgue.

Gee, you'd think for $90,000, they'd put a box on it that actually matched the body lines on the cab. Looks like a scabbed-on Ford box to me. If I were going to spend that kind of cash on a "pickup", it would look more like this one:

Thats what I said about the box on tales, it looks homebuilt and homely to me. I wonder why all of a sudden theres a bunch of gigantic pickups being offered?. I have seen alot of F450 and F550's out on the road latley, but I thought it was just because of the heavy vehicle tax break offered last year on vehicles over 6,000lbs for buisness owners, I talked to a Hummer dealer last year and he said he sold a pile of them because of that. Still, people should only buy what they need, and very few need a pickup as big as these.
