hello guys, kentucky kid back with an update if you remember me from a few months back working a job with a highly critical boss. well, i quit that job at the end of june and went back home to my ma and pa's place and farmed for awhile. one day i received a call from a guy i had previous interviewed at(but he had no opening to offer at the time) and he offered me the head lawn and garden service job! needless to say, i took the job and i am now going into my second month, and i am absolutely loving it:) he is a very kind and upfront person, and that helps tons. also, i ran into a salesman from the old dealership i worked at and he said that they cant find anyone to take my old job. he agreed the boss was way too critical of his workers. oh well, all and all, its going great, and i just thought i would re-post incase anyone ever wondered where i went in life. thanks guys! best regards, kentucky kid

Kid...glad to see that life came around to meet you. I don't know how many times I worked a job I hated, with a boss I couldn't stand; now that I'm older, I realize life is just too short for that. Just remember that if you're doing something that you love, and you're better at it than most, eventually the money and recognition will follow.

But also remember that the grass ain't always greener at the place with the better offer. One job I took, the reason the money was better to start with was because the boss didn't believe in raises; another place, the reason they offered more money up front was because they treated folks like crap and couldn't lure anyone in without the better pay.

I've heard a lot from bosses that good help is hard to find. In my experience with a lot of jobs, a good boss is harder to find.

I remember you. Glad to hear that things are going in a direction that you prefer. Remember though, jobs aren't hobbies, they provide livings, and if ever get a chance to promote yourself into something that you like, and of course make more $$$, well it's obvious isn't it?

Glad you posted an update. Good jobs can be very illusive. It sounds like you just landed one. Glad for you and hope all works out well. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Just knew there was something good about Kentucky kid. Glad ya made it. We were curious, at least me. Kentuckykid kinda reminds me of my son Bobby. He had some troubles, worked em out. Real FINE young man now at 22. More man than me. Serving in Iraq for last 8 months with 1st ID up in the Tikrit Sunni triangle. Too much crap for a young to go thru. If ya see a soldier that returns give him/her a "thanks", they do deserve at least that.

Bob, read your post and had to respond. I salute your son and all of our fine military men and women serving our country. I did a year in Viet Nam in 71 as a 21 yr. old in a combat artillery unit. Us old Viet vets are trying to make darn sure our military people are always shown the respect and thanks they deserve. My best to you and your family and may God bless. Bill
