All I know is that if the wind is out of the south for 3 days running, the next county over will get rain. :>)

We were laughing about it yesterday too. We got large bands of rain in southern Florida from....you guessed it...the reminants of Ivan....coming back down from New England.

Then there is that Jeane, who is doing a loop-de-loop in the Atlantic right now.

With nothing for years, now this year we have several clowns for hurricanes, just having a ball messing with our nerves....

The first few hurricane names for next year are out:

Hurricane ANOMALY
Hurricane BOZO
Hurricane CRAZY AS A BED BUG
Hurricane DOPEY
Hurricane EVEN YOUR BEST PREDICTIONS ARE A JOKE
Hurricane FIND ME IF YOU CAN
Hurricane GUESS WHERE I WILL BE NEXT

Funny thing, I got a degree from ohio state in that stuff (don't have a job in it of course) but I use it now to help out on the farm. I was lookin at stuff early in the week and actually saw that on the maps before it happened. I'll bet the forecasters were like me and kind of laughed at it thinking "yeah, that'll happen.." Gotta take things seriously sometimes I guess. God bless.

Only thing I learned about weather is when you see High Sirrus Clouds coming in from the NW, rain will be on you in 24.

Only other thing I learned is that if you live in Texas, and are NE of a larger lake, you're gonna get afternoon thunderstorms in the summer.

Mackeral scales and mares tails make tall ships wear short sails...its a sign of high winds. Little puffy clouds everywhere and also clouds that resemble a mares tail. Instead of going bass fishin, try gettin with the kids and fly kites. Found this one back in the navy days...Know any more uncommon weather jingles? Fred Oh

Something about sunset color and sailing. Don"t remember if it"s red, sail or stay in port.

Red sky in the morning, Sailors take warning.

Red sky at night, Sailors delight.

I think it may be just the opposite, this was made up to rhyme.

txblu;

Sometimes I will get one right.

Before retirement. For a few years there, whenever neighbor started his pivot it would come up a rain.
