Can someone tell me about an IHC M that I have purchased. The seriel number indicates it should be a mid 40"s model. The Tractor has 2 fuel tanks. I small and one Large. I know it means it should be a diesel however there is no Fuel pump on the Tractor and the big tank has Gas in it. I figured it was the same system as my Super W-D 6 however it is not. Please let me know how this works and if this tractor is worth what I paid for it. $2000 was the price. It is in good shape and has a wide front. I appreciate your response. Forever Red, John

Maestro, I"ve noticed that you seem intent on asking someone else what they think your tractor is worth. Its hard for someone else to establish an actual price on a tractor since they may be worth more or less depending on the condition and availability. The best answer I think anyone here can give you as to its worth is that you claim to have paid $2,000 for it. That makes it worth $2,000 to you, in my book. What anyone else may think its worth becomes irrelevant and moot at that point. My advice is to enjoy it with no regrets.

Paul hit it right on the nose. You decided it was worth $2000. To me an M is only worth about $650 to $950 in average condition. Only because I'm not really in the market for one. I just bought a JD 3020 for what I felt was a good price. Another guy thought I was insane for paying what I did. Bottom line is weather or not you are happy with it. I like mine and am sure you like yours.

That M was most likely set up originally to burn either kerosene or distillate, The engine would not start easily on either of these fuels, hence the small tank was furnished. The small tank held gasoline, used to start the engine, and then after it ran for awhile and was warm, you could switch over to the less expensive fuel for running.

Before we can tell you year the serial # needs posted. If you insist on an opinion as to what it
worth,a better description is needed.But heres mine anyway,if sheet metal,tires,wide front,rims
are nice and its original runs good and everything
works like it should, and you want it to keep or
use it,i wouldn't worry about $2000.If you bought
it to resale or if what i mentioned above is poor,
you paid to much.

Restored condition about $2000 to $2500 would be my thoughts.
