Alot of people say if you have equiptment it should be all the same Red Green Blue ect.. on this farm we have varous brands of equiptment INT. JD. Oliver. farmco. ford. Do you think that one brand of equiptment is one way thinking our what? What your answer .

I like the blue and white stuff but buy on price and condition. My 640 JD rake and Farr tedder look real good blue and white. Though I do seem to have a lot of that red oxide colored equipment like every one else. Roy, next door in NB.

Guess I'm like everyone else. Little bit of everything. Power units are all blue. For the rest, there is some NH, Deere, Claas, IH, Taylor/Pittsburg, Bushog, Kneverland, Kuhn, Degelman, Horst, and Farmco. Most was new, but some was used. Whatever is cheap and works. So you have a Farmco spreader too? How do you like it? Rather unique, not many around, and built like their name.....

Went to an Auction once and I was standing there with my finger in my Ear trying to quiet a Tickle and the next thing I knew I had bought for $50.00 a real Ratty looking MM R. It ran so I took it home and one day my Bro. painted it Allis Chalmers Orange. It fit right in with the rest of the Persian Orange Crowd.If any one ever noticed ,no comments were ever made.When we had our sale in 1970 it was the only one a thought wish I had it now.was given about keeping.

We have a little of everything because it was all bought used and cheap. 3 JD tractors, 1 IH tractor, new holland baler, Hesston haybine, NI picker, NI rake, Oliver plows, oliver disk, JD cultimulcher, JD Drill, JD corn planter and the list goes on..... .. We do try to stick with the better known names so we can find parts. Most of our stuff is 20 or 30 years old so the parts thing is a big issue.

In my part of hte country most every thing is green,only baccause that is the only color for up to 50 miles and farmers tend to stick with the closest dealer in area . That way they are not spending all there time chasing down parts Out here there is a green dealer every 15-20 miles a red every 30-60 an orange there off the radar and blue 4 I know of massey are few and far. So that may be how somebody made you ask this question as long as you can drop a pin and hook up the hoses color does not matter

After a few minutes in the field, they're all the same color....Dirty I'm partial to John Deere equipment... All my bigger tractors (4) are Deere. I have a couple older Massey Ferguson though. (And one BURNT UP Case) (GREEN and YELLOW/RED and GREY/Carbon black) Deere combine, planter (3 of 'em), no-till drill, square baler, plow(s), chisel plow, disc mower, and lawn mower (GREEN and YELLOW/rust) New Holland hay rakes, and an old square baler.(RED and YELLOW) International Harvester disc, fertilizer spreader, and field cultivator (RED and WHITE) Vermmer round baler (YELLOW?) Howard Rotovator (REDDISH ORANGE) Woods "bush hog", box scraper, rear blade, turf renovator, and "pulverizer" ("mustard" YELLOW) KillBros grain cart (RED and WHITE) Parker gravity wagons (LIME GREEN) E-Z Trail hay racks (RED and WOOD) Home made sprayer. (no paint...bare stainless steel) Then a mix-match of "small stuff" (RED/WHITE/BLUE/GREEN/YELLOW/ORANGE/BLACK/RUST/ECT...) Quility has no set color. Some "colors" tend to be of higher quality though. Bargains come in all colors. I live in Louisville, Kentucky. (Home of the National Farm Machinery Show) My earliest memories of that show are the multitudes of bright colors...(Just a thought) John

Just seemed to be a lot of stuff, thats why I asked if you were a dealer good guess. I have worked on farms with 3000 acres that only had 3 tractors 1 planter 1 disk 1 culavator (field and row) and 1 ripper and 1 combine with heads and 1 chopper so it's makes me wonder thats all

Allen most of those green guys don't realize they have a red engine in there tractors tenaco owns cummins as well as case IH thats why those green 4wds move so well.

Most of our equipment is of JD because our dealer gives us the best support and service. I hate having to run around and deal with 3 or 4 different dealers.

Lets see:

3 Blue tractors, one Grey & Red.
2 Red tractors.
1 off Green.
Combine is Silver.
Swather is Yellow & Red.
Planter & moco are Green.
Tillage is mostly Red with 1 Green, 1 off Green, and 1 Dull Orange.

I don't think you can limit yourself to one brand anymore. No one company makes a full line of equipment like they used to.

While I certainly have my preferences I'm pretty color blind. Whatever I can get the best the cheapest. Main cosiderations are how well a particular item does what I want, what is the local parts support, parts availability and cost, then 'everything else'. Only real prejudice is I like multiple items to be the same make and model (disc mowers are both 5408 NI, rakes are all 256 NH, etc).

I don't know how it works in Maine, but here in Texas, we are multicultural.

Interestingly, my neighbors "green" tractor strayed into my barn one night and "met" my "red" tractor. 8 months later, I found a green lawn tractor with red wheels. What's really strange, it has a yellow(!) mower deck.

Truth of the matter is, one of my red tractors isn't really red anymore, kind of a dark pink/red.

But me being partial to red headed women may explain why I tend to go for red colored tractors.

That's it! It's genetic! Case closed.

Do what I did, paint it all orange, buy a few decals and stick them on, then lie your butt off, "They did to make a ..., you're lookin' at it aint ya?".

Course though, I got green and red too. My dollar spends just as well in one place as it does somewhere else. So long as they treat me as well as the others, and give me my dollars worth, I figure the more friends the merrier.

My philosophy--if it does the job right and can be fixed if/when needed, doesn"t matter about color. There are certain makes/models for which I have acquired a dislike for various reasons, but everybody"s made something that isn"t so great, even the green and yellow guys (GASP!). I think it"s silly to buy machinery solely based on matching paint and brand.

If you start mixing brands of tractors and equipment, you can have fights in the machine shed. Use what does the job for you. there is a lot of good stuff out there. Most people are color loyal because of what they are used to and the dealer they bought it from. But of course "if it ain't red. leave it in the shed" :>)

Oh Boy,thats cool!My 9 year old was saying just tha ttoday when I put an old JD mower beside his Cub in the barn,He says,"Daddy,yoiu beeter get that ugly ole green lawn mower away from my Cub,it might have a black eye in the morning!"Im thinking about sneaking out with a can of flat black and painting around one of the headlights!
