I have an old farmall B that was converted into a bucket loader. The conversion package was called a honey bee and basically there is a loader bucket added on to the back end, the driver seat is turned around and the transmission is changed around so you have 4 gears in reverse. To drive the live hydraulics the pump is coupled to the crank pulley and here in lies the problem. After tearing this thing down to where the fan belt could be replaced it was discovered that the pulley is loose on the shaft. Because of the casting that holds the steering gear I can only pull the pulley out about 3/4" and that is enough to see the crack were the oil seal rides. The pulley can rotate about 45deg. loosely on the crank. I found a set screw that is supposed to lock the pulley in place and I am assuming that there is a key way in there also. So before we take the last step of pulling what was the front end so we can remove the crank pulley, here are my questions: any thoughts on whether the crank is still good and if so where do I find a pulley? If the crank is bad what is the scrap value of this thing?

I'm sorry that I can't offer any suggestions, but I would sure enjoy a picture of that unit.

I'm assumimg you are talking about the pulley that is on the front of the crankshaft, if so, this is a place that should be able to help you get one. If the crank is not damaged, it should be a straightforward job to replace it once you get access to it. If the crank is bad, they should be able to help with that too.

Opinion..Kind of a unique lil beastie, iff good otherwise an engine shop should be able to build up and restore crank end although it would involve an engine teardown and reassembly. Not too bad a job on that engine.Might even be able to sneak the crank out w/o full teardown.
