Can anyone tell me the torques sequence and pounds for a oliver 282 6 cyl. eng., valve traine torques also please thanks

A 1550 should NOT have a 282 in it.The tourqes are all differant for those differant engines.

The sequence for any head is generally from the middle to the ends, crossing over each time. For pound specs, try posting on the MM board. Someone is likely to help you out.

Think of it this way when you tighten a head- you anchor the middle to the block, and squish it out to both ends.

Hey Bruce,,well I cant answer your questions,sorry,but I just bought a 1550,waitin on it to be shipped,just curious what your doing to your 1550 and why.Has it been a good tractor?Or whatever info you have when you get time.
