On the election. The comments here are getting more dirty every day. I was afraid this would happen. There are several people here that I HAD respect for. I am fast loseing it, if this continues. Why do you feel that you have to say your opinion over and over? and then color it with semi-dirty things? If it is OK to throw mud I am quite capable of throwing a lot back. Kim, I think the time is fast approching to shut it
off. It used to be such a nice friendly place.

Now coloken just include more fiber and bran in your diet,but censor ship is what you want them make it fair .NO MORE asking for prayers or picking on anybody send messages to someone no more childhood tales or talking about grumpy wifes no more bring up GOD , just questions about old iron is that how shallow your mind is coloken. Like i've said before you are an total control freak you are really the only person complaning well almost one other besides you so ease up if we do it your way this site will die a sudden death from bordom and you will be happy to know you killed it just so you could have your way.

Leland, I agree that those who would censor all except that which they deem appropriate do not necessarily make this a better site. I truly believe that what makes this site one of the best on the internet is that we have one thing that brings us together which is our love of tractors and old iron, That however is not all there is to us. We are real people here conversing with eachother, and we have many ideas and experiences to share which transend way beyond our love of old iron. YOu and I have had our moments, and I have come to the realization that more than a difference in values, it was more misunderstanding of eachothers values. And I respect your willingness to stand up for what you believe is right, as I do everyone elses. Only one person ever had me so angry that I would have loved to reach through cyber space and choke the livin heck out of him, and I think we all know who he is or was. (havent seen ole Ron lately)There has been so much discussion about O.T. topics, yet, to those who carp about them, it is a fact that they do indeed attract interest, which is apparent from all the responses, both positive and negative. As to Allan finding it necessary to apologize for voicing an opinion, if it makes him feel better, fine, but no apology is necessary. i find him quite witty and humerous, and like me, sometimes the smile doesnt project through the computer screen, so it is easy to misinterpret what he may have said in total jest. I have never read anything he has posted that is demeaning even tho he may disagree. YOu nailed it when you say that if those who want to do away with, or censor O.T. discussions, would have to do the same with prayer requests or "How"s your wife" or anything not pertaining to tractors. Gosh, life cant be that boring, can it?

Ignore it....

Locally, here in Louisville, there is a "movement" to boycot "porn shops", by a number of church groups. What they have ub-wittingly done, is to advertise the locations of these places, giving them more exposure (pardon the pun) than they would have gotten any other way. It has actually HELPED the business.

When I'm scanning post's to read, as I catch up, I look for the ones with the most replies FIRST. Those are USUALLY the "yes I can/No you can't-political debate" DEBATES.

Ignore and they will go away (on Nov 3rd,the day after..... ..) John

In my town, upper class working folks that dont like trashy stuff. About 4 years ago a guy opens up an adult book store on the main drag and then all the upstanding people in the area protest (like you mentioned) and then this will kill ya. A bunch of residents got together to buy him out and shut down his business. That is stupid cause then it just sets up the next guy to set up another sleazy place so he can get paid off too. The residents should have waited until the guy didnt get any sales and then he wouldnt be able to pay the rent to the owner of strip mall and then he is gone. So far nobody has set up an adult bookstore since the first guy tried.

I hate to respond to this comment but I can't resist. In my younger days at college, my buddies and I spent a little time at the "adult" bars. You would not believe the amount of people that I went to church with when I was a kid that I saw at these establishments. My buddies also saw people they had attended church with. Point being, that why all the church going folks don't need directions when they picket those places, IT WASN'T THE FIRST TIME THEY HAD BEEN THERE!
It was kinda of funny to sit in the pew on Sunday morning next to somebodies dad that you had just seen the night before.

These places are tucked away in secluded places, in the least residential neighborhoods in the city. No one even notices them, untill 15 or 20 Bible totin' zeolots start standing on the sidewalks in fron of them, shouting at passing motorists.

I respect their strong moral convictions, AND I support their right to protest. What I DON'T understand is their approach. Like I said, they're giving out free advertisement....John

I agree with you completely, without realizing it, those folks are defeating their own purpose. There are much better ways to accomplish those goals. But now we done brought religion into a political debate.
