Davis was the closest. according to Sam Drucker, Mrs. Hoyt and Mrs. Clagwell could no longer get along. i guess businesses have ended for stranger things.

Well, I thought everyone knew the answer, but I guess not. OK here's what my grandpa told me. Back in I don't remember the year, Mr.Clagwell left work just before noon one day, {I think it was on a friday}when he reached home for dinner he found Hoyt with his wife. ya'll have to paint that picture. Mr Glagwell told Hoyt he was going to kill him and went to the bedside table for his pistol. What Glagwell didn't notice was that Hoyt was packin. {some of the old guys didn't ever unpack} when Glagwell turn to face Hoyt, Hoyt shot Glagwell between the eye. Grandpa said Glagwell only had one eye. The Sheriff locked up Hoyt and the Judge hung em. Glagwell's wife ran off with the plant manager on a whiskey boat and was never seen again. the bank sold off all company equipment, along with what Hoyt Glagwell's that were built, and closed the gates for the last time.

Mr Haneys father sold them some machines for a factory expansion and they went broke trying to make the machines run right.

They went out of bussiness in the early 90s due to Kerrys 98 tax increases and numorous federal regulations in congress which made it impossible for them to survive. This cost the country almost 100,000 jobs and threw us into a recession. Lucky for us Bush is getting us back on our feet and 4 more years will get the economy going enough that the Hoyt Clagwell company may reopen.

wasnt that the fictional name they put on the fordson in the green acres tv show, i always assumed it was named that rather than a fordson since it was depicted as a piece of junk, which ford would not want since they supplied the vehicles for the show

I think if you look at the "Fordson" close enough with that big flywheel on the side you"ll see it,s a JD GP. Thank you very much.

Actually, you"re both right...the opening sequence had O.W. Douglas driving a John Deere, but in the actual episodes, whenever he was fixing or driving his tractor, it was a Fordson.

And once they had a Ford 6000 that Lisa gave Oliver for his birthday...it had "music from each veel".

Do you remember the show that Lisa staged a plowing bee to help Oliver get his plowing finished?
