Kim,
With all the OT posts being made here, dont you think you could get a handle on this board if you were to use the new format ?

It goes to show how much this board needs a new format.
With a new format, like the one you tested, you could get all this fixed.

On the new format, create a off topic board.
You then could move OT subjects, NOT DELETE, to the OFF Topic one, as long as they were "G" rated post's.
The guys will soon understand why and how to post in the correct forum.

But there will be those that will say they will never come to a new fourm because this old one is so easy.....You CAN teach a old dog new tricks.

Have a nice day.

correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the tractor tales forum a place for off topic discussions? Don't see a reason for another one...

The separate forum thing is a good idea but it doesn't work for one main reason. Those that post those political/controversial topics only get attention when they invade a location where they're not supposed to be. They are like a virus ... isolated and away by themselves they are harmless and do nothing, but get them into a living, breathing body cell (like a tractor talk forum) and they can wreak havoc. So in my opinion, that is why they appear here and not in their own category. Too bad but I guess it's human nature, many of us seek constant attention throughout life.

Used to be one here, no one came. in reply to sammy the RED, 10-29-2004 16:10:04
So, if no one uses a particular tool, and didn't when one was here to begin with, will paintin' it a different color make it any more useful?

Like the other fellers said, friends talk amongst friends. Just because I'm sittin' in a barber's chair doesn't mean every word out of my mouth is about shorter hair as I'm sittin' there.

Hey!!! I saw the new box. It was there.

It is all good. Read what you want, igonre what you want and comment where you want. The political discussions get the most interest by far and are the most interesting to read. I know, let us have more discussions about diesel trucks or the mileage of diesel trucks which have nothing to do with tractors but I think that is interesting as well. Where do you draw the line because it is somewhere on the other side of tractors only discussion no matter how you draw the line. So I say let it all go as long as long as it is not destructive.

Oh Sammy, don't get all shook up. We come here to chat with our friends. And no topic is out of line with friends. If you see a subject you don't like, just ignore it.

NC, You misunderstood my meaning.
I do skip over the post's I do not care about.
Just tired of all the deletations and whining.
Just trying to help.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone can post on any subject they want to. My post above was to try and help. Oh well, have a great weekend.

Cowman is right! without O/T it might (will) get dull - Just visit the yanmar forum - Sometimes a week between messages, this works! so why cut it up or move it around, as a lot have said just ignor the ones you don't want to read or even the names you don't like but I think you will be the looser in the long run if you do.

I am with you 100% Ignore the topics you don't wish to read. For for anyone to sensor the topics (unless they get out of hand) is not good. I used to visit a few sites that removed anything they deemed "unacceptable". Won't go there anytime soon. I have received so much information from this site and great responses from my questions, I am afraid I am becoming addicted. Yes, its true and I admit it, I am a ytmagaholic. And although I just often lurk for information, I enjoy the interaction between everyone.

Guys, Kim has got a handle on the situation, you will notice when you post now the box to the right telling us what and what is not appropriate. Good for her. No politices, racial slurs, hurtful statments, religion. Good deal. Now if we can just get that old green tractor hating reprobate out in Chadron, Nebraska to quit praying to the hamburger Gods and vote the right way come next Tuesday, we'll have it made LOLOLOLOLOL, Later, Harley
