i'm owner of BELARUS MTZ 82. about tractor i can't said anything bad at all. but i need one more tractor and as i don't have enough money i'm forced to buy older tractor. so my choice shorten to a LTZ T40 (1975-1985). i know that the tractor isn't some beauty but i don't need him for showing. why LTZ T40?
well in my area there are much of those and they are not expensive.
what does this tractors have comon with MTZ? is it reliable? when buying one on what should watch most? what is a reasonable price for it?
if someone could please answer me on some of those questions (or send some picture)i would be very greatfull.
thanks Drago Kusic

Hi Drago,

Your from Croatia, right? instead of the LTZ, why donīt You take a look at an imported european tractor. A croatian friend of mine told me that they are going cheap there.
for search try this:www.traktorpool.de www.tec24.com

thank you for your reply.
i did think about buying an imported tractor (i liked the MF the most) and yes in a place some 20 km from me there are people who actually live of selling tractors that they buy in Germany. as soon as i've seen some of those tractors i was thrilled with their shape (outside and inside).for me the problem was in the price. let me explain: for example that MF (294 1981year) in www.tractorpool.de cost about 5.000 eur. if buying it here i would have to pay it about 10.000 eur. the worst part is that the most of this people i know and they are my "friends".
that's why i give up of those i belive good tractors (i even wanted to go Germany on my own but some things happend...). i needed the tractor and i've turned to the east. i've bought a MTZ 82 (i belive it was you who told me that this are good tractors 3 years ago - thank you for that). for the half price of those imported tractors i've bought a half younger tractor in exallant condition.i now need one more tractor and have even less money than 3 years ago. that's why i'm looking at LTZ T40A who have price about 1.500 - 2.000 eur here.
there is no chance for me to buy an imported tractor with front wheel drive and 60 hp with that money.
if that LTZ is even close to MTZ that will be a dream come true.
i don't know about your friend but this is what goes on in Croatia with imported tractors.
please reply.
Drago
