I'm looking for information re: B F Avery tractors in the early to mid fifties. I have a friend who may have one for sale but doesn't know where to look for serial #s or other identification. Thanks in advance for any help.
Pete

Are you talking about one of these? General on background. There was also a Wards on the other side.

I'm not an expert, but I have a few junkers laying around. The BF Avery is basically, a Cletrac General GG or Cletrac HG (or OC3) on wheels instead of tracks. Same Hercules engine, same transmission, etc. Minne Moline also sold the same tractor marketed as the Minneapolis Moline BF. The BF Avery company of Kentucky was a different company then that of Avery Power Machinery Company of Illinois. Neither one of the companies actually made the BF.

Thanks Larry, I found two websites in the archives but neither is active at this time. Also found Mike's short history article which was also very helpful. Thanks for your help, Pete
