jd 40 lever no clue

There is a lever under the seat on the left hand side that it looks like when you turn it, it pushes in two piston rods can anyone tell me what they do it is a 40 T wide front i think

You have to move that lever one way or the other when you have both the left hand lift arms pinned together for more lift capacity. The procedure is outlined in the owners manual so I don't remember which way is for what. Hopefully someone with a manual real handy can add more details.

thats what the levers are for the 3 pt arms--DO NOT operate until you find out where to have the lever- it can damage the lift- e-mail me direct and I will look it up in my owners man. BLW
