CB, Most of that junk is outlawed in LOTS of places. At the very least, ALL glass(acoustic) liners need to be sealed so they don't shed. Get rid of that stuff. Replace it with plastic lined flex duct for now and ,like T Bone said, put in a REAL (metal)duct system when feasable. jimNCal the 20 yr sheetmetal man now turned project manager/consultant.

Hi CB,

Yep fiber duct. If you look over a supply air vent in the sun light when the fan is running you'll see small figerglass fibers floating out of the registers.

And you thought smoking was bad for your health!

When I was a apprentice they had a guy from Johns Mansfield come give us a demo. Part of his demo was to wad up a small hand full of fiberglass and eat it. WE all kinda looked at one another in ahhh.

I asked the guy how long he had that job, ohhh about 2yrs. How long did the guy before you have that job? About 2yrs!!! Hmmmmm!!!

I'll stick with metal duct with the liner on the outside!
