Sure glad I bought a welder to fix things!! Busted my Rear Blade again today! Just moving some snow and on a turn snaged a frozen in little rock just right and snapped off one of the Hardend 3 point pins clean off the blade. Course I was a ways from the house and had to chain it up to get back. Welded a new Cat 1 Pin on and went back to plowing. Guess it is time for the other one to break since I have beefed up 2 points and the blade tilt bracket allready. This is a heavy duty blade too! Mark H.

He He, yup, I'll never forget the time me and dad went down to the local machinery dealer and bought some odd brand blade that the dealer assured us was good for an 80HP 4wd tractor, and we wanted to use it on a 40hp 2wd, and he told us we could never hurt it with our 40 horse and to just bring it back if we didn't like it, because it didn't look all that heavy duty to me. Broke nearly every weld on it the very first pass down the driveway when it snagged on some ice, anyway, he got it back and we waited for a good heavy duty King Kutter blade to come in, and the most we've managed to do to that is scratch the paint.
Sounds like the blade you got just isn't heavy duty enough for your tractor.

Get rid of that chiropractic nightmare and get a front mount blade or front end loader so it's easier to watch where you're going. :) Brian

I have a Front End Loader on my list for this tractor! My neck does not twist like it did when I was younger. Mark H.

Why do you have to look behind? My blade follows right behind me!(Grin) 'Course I only had to replace a couple of fence posts!

Mark, you will wonder how you ever got along without a loader after you get one. My loader is by far the most used implement I have, all year.

I don't have a front blade as yet, but I have most of the steel I will need to build one that will mount in place of the loader bucket. My rear blade is real old and heavy, and so far I haven't ever broken it. But my neck gets tired too.... I have also thought about building some kind of a framework to mount the 3 point rear plow on the loader arms, since that would be an easy way to make it possible to have an adjustable angle.

With my rear plow, I try to keep the top link as short as possible, as this keeps the blade from digging in as much. It moves less gravel that way and I would think it would have less of a chance to catch real bad on something.

Our weather around Spokane has been unusually mild. For the first time in years, we did not have a white Christmas. It must have been nearly 40 degrees that afternoon when my brother and I went for a walk. So I haven't been plowing much this year. I hope we get some moisture--we really need it.

Good luck finding a loader. They are really worth having and if you have one, you are more than halfway there if you need a front blade.

Man, I hear you. TV station I worked at 10 years ago had a Ford Jubilee with a back blade on it that I had to use to move snow. God, I hated that thing. My neck would hurt for days after using it.

Turn your blade around to plow going forward. Then when you back up the blade won't catch on frozen hubs. Sure it won't plow as clean but you won't break it neither.

It won't swing all the way around anymore. I had to weld a shim in the pivot to stop the chatter on hard ground. Now it only turns about 45 degs each way. One day I will get a new one or totaly rework it. When things go bad in the winter you just fix it so you can still plow snow! Mark H.

Mark I think this just says there may be considerable difference between manfactures in regard to the meaning of the words "Heavy Duty".

This is the Blade I use. They have one inch harden pins sticking out for the 3 point lower arms to hook up. Having it snap insted of bending was the problem. Not sure if the cold had anything to do with it. The other problem was where the tilt adjustment bracket under the main hitch attached to the blade the weld broke loose. I welded a larger & thicker plate to the thiner blade to give it more area to hold with. At least the blade does not bend like my neibors Rino did the first day he used it! It is a old one and been hammerd quite a bit befor I got it. Mark H.
