It isn't like you are rating a diamond. It shouldn't be hard to put a real world price on tractors. You are going to pay an insurance premium rated to what you declare the values at
anyway. It sounds like you think it is worth more than the insurance company does. Try Loyds of London they take the high priced stuff.

Frank, all you need to do is contact your insurance agent, he/she will know of several appraisers who are more than qualified. Also, any bank or other lending institution will have in-house appraisers that you can hire. Please do not contact the American society of Ag Appraisers, I have had some dealings with them, I would not recommend their services.

Get what in the trade is called an "inland marine" policy which gives a specific amt. that the tractor is insured for and usually and usually covers all risk of physical loss. This is the same type policy that you get to cover a diamond ring ,mink coat Ferrari sports car or anything else rich farmers have.I don't need any myself.

You can also contact the American Society of Ag Appraisers and find out who is qualified in your area. Their website is www.amagappraisers.com.

Check with auctioneers in the trade of old tractors.

I know Merv Hilpipre has done this in the past. Would bet that Aumann's would. Don't know about Nixon's but would be worth checking with as they are probably closer to you.
