Thanks for the earlier help on my engine question. I have another; I've got a gas 4cly Oliver. The engine size is 116, I've got a crank for it, but I need to have it ground. So I was wondering if anyone knows the specs for the crankshaft or how I can find them?
Thanks,
Mike Devine

I looked in Federal Mogul & Clevite Brg. manuals. No listing for this engine. These are the spec books the crank grinder use.The only clue I have is it is a Fiat engine???Don't grind crank until you find a supplier of the undersize brgs. Not just a listing, but can supply and with the correct spec sheet.Save old brgs they can be rebabbitted if no longer available.Earl

Yes it is a Fiat engine. It's been hard to find any info for this. Any ideas?

Mike, On the back of the old insert bearings are there any markings or letters to give us a clue of the OE brg manufacture. As I stated before hang on to your old inserts because they can be renewed.Earl In Illinois

Did you ask this on the Oliver board? I have the dimensions, but will not be able to get the book until this evening. Find me on the HPOCA form and send me a PM> in case you have questions.

Thanks for the help. I'm new to the forum, so I don't know what the HPOCA form is or where to find it. If you could point me in the right direction, I'd like to ask you some more questions. Thanks again.

Mains are 2.4795-2.4803. Rods. !.8763-1.87771.
HPOCA should be www/hartparroliver.org
Look for the oliver form. The answers to the questions are most likely yes, no or maybe. Have a good evening.

If you're having it ground, most likely the machine shop will have the crank specifications for it in their engine parts book.

None of the machine shops around here have that information for some reason. Actually, no one around here has any information on the "gas" Olivers.
