The amount you take off is not critical but it is important to take the same amount off the bolting surface as you do off the friction surface. The spline on the transmission input shaft allows quite a bit of machining to be done. I certainly would not put any shims between the crank and the flywheel. You won't be able to keep the flywheel tight. Ed

According to Hy-Capacity's online catalog it should be 1.170" for double clutches or 1.410" for single clutches.

A 175 could have live pto with a 2-stage clutch or independent pto with a single clutch.

The last thing I will ever claim to be is a Massey expert. If you don't know if you have a single or double clutch, how did you order parts?

Your right Bob,It is a dual clutch thanks for the spec. How do you know if the flywheel has enough material to be turned again since the tractor is 35yrs. and i do not know how many times it has been re-surfaced?

if the shop takes, say, .030 off you put a .030
shim between the crankshaft and flywheel.
