My friend (hasn't got a computer) recently bought a Massey Ferguson '135' tractor at auction. The badge says it was "Built in France" (not "Fabrique en France). He is looking for an Operator's Manual, but since this tractor appears to be non-standard, he's having trouble. Anecdotal evidence suggests that this tractor may also be known as a '122'. Can anyone shed some light on this.

Thanks, Paul

Many thanks for the feedback. The tractor concerned may well be a '122'! It has a four cylinder engine, a four-speed gear box with high and low ratio and a three-speed PTO drive. The believed date of manufacture is 1966. The model No.:1308SNMY, the Serial No:379070 and the Engine No:7945495. Come on you enthusiasts, is it a '122' or a '135'?

Thanks for your collective help

Neither! 1308SNMY = Like Mike says it is a 130 and as you say it is a 1966.

Now that made me think! I have just fished out my copy of John Farnworth"s wonderful book (all Massey nuts should have a copy!) "A Worldwide Guide to Massey-Ferguson 100 and 1000 Tractors"
Yes the 135 was built in France too! BUT French 135 diesels have a 3/144 engine not 3/152 like UK and American ones. As for the 122 it is also French built, 4 cylnder Perkins 99cu in. The 130 had a 4/107cu in engine. How many cylinders has your friends tractor?

Roy,
Have same problem with losing the copy once "submit" has been pressed.
Have to remember to copy, and hope you can paste, if you need to start again. Easy to get around the problem, but I always seem to remember I SHOULD HAVE copied the d-mn thing just after I want to change something!
Regards, RAB

Unlike some forums I visit, once you have submitted your entry you cannot go back and edit it ( Subtle hint! )
Just to confuse matters, according to my book some of the later French 135's had the 152 engine too.

Are you sure it isn't a 130? Smaller than the regular 135, but built in France. That says it all. I had one once- liked to never got rid of it.
