I am going to buy this tractor from a friend this coming week. I would love to have you guys send me all of the photos of your restored/over-hauled WD's. Most of the photos in the gallery were taken with very poor lighting and/or resolution too low so that is of no help to me.

I basically know absolutely nothing about them so anything you can clue me in on I would appreciate. Items such as manuals, books, parts sources, websites, Allis-Chalmers History etc. would be greatly appreciated as well.

One thing I need to know very quickly is I have to tow this thing 450 miles. I have a F350 Crew Cab Powerstroke so that shouldnt be a problem but what to put it on is another matter. How much does this tractor weigh and would a normal car hauler work?

like jrry said you might have to turn the rear tires in to fit between the trailer fenders, but otherwise i don't see a problem with your set-up either. when i bought mine the rear tires were all the way out and i just jacked one side up and moved the one tire in and then it fit on my trailer no problem. i haven't fiddled with mine enough though to be any help otherwise. found mine not running for $175. put a battery in it, cut the steel gas line off and put a temporary rubber one on to get gas to the carb and i drove it on the trailer. the seller was pi$$ed!!! his loss. i just use mine for moving hay racks around the yard. that's all i bought it for and i haven't had to do anything else to it. great little machine. good luck!

Joe, I have a WD 45 with wide front and it sure is a nice strong tractor. Mine is still original so I can't help on the pictures. the tractor lists at 4470 lbs so a regular car hauler should work. Most have two 3500 lb axles or more which will take care of 7,000 lbs including the weight of trailer. If the wheels are set in the width should be ok but if they are set out you need to check the width. Car haulers will probably have 78-82 inches width. The tractor has two clutches. The foot clutch will operate everything and the hand clutch engages the transmission. The tractor has about 45 hp. Enjoy, Jrry

Your tractor is approximately 32 horse, and should pull very nicely on the car hauler. I towed mine from St. Louis to Lexington, Ky. with a 1/2 ton truck and I did not even know it was back there. You will have years and years of fun and good service out of this tractor. They sure don't make them like that anymore. Enjoy.
