I am trying to find out what year and worth my grandfathers tractor is. If anyone can tell by these numbers I would really appreciate your input. Thank You

Sheila,

You definitely have a Ford tractor. To identify it, go to the "Vintage Ford Tractor Resource" page (link below), and click on "Serial #'s". If your tractor was built between 1953 and 1964 you will be able to identify it. There are links that will show you exactly where to look to find the model number, which is what you need to positively identify it.

I'm pretty sure you have one of the "hundred" series tractors. The "NCA" prefix is commonly found on parts used on these tractors. (It could also be a pre-1965 "thousand" series, which are basically the same as the "hundred" series.)

If it is a 600 series there were ten models 620,620L. 630,630L,640,640L,650,650L,660,660L
the NCA# does not have enough numbers you need five #s the NCA# and the EAE#look to be casting or part numbers the 66-d-1 reades out like this
6) four-wheel adjustable axel w/134 cu. in.gasoline /LP-gas or 144cu. in.diesel engine
6) Five speed transmission w/live pto d) diesel engine
1) Series designation, 1958-1962

I did a google search on "NCA7006", and it bright me right back here under registration as a serial number for a Ford 600 series. How about that? Hmm? Although, could be one of the guys pullin my leg.

Nothing against blue, or might even be grey, but you got me on a value, even color. Maybe one of them other guys, whom might be pulling my leg, or one of the folks at the Ford pages here might know. Best I can do.

If I am interpreting the numbers correctly you have a FORD 671 tractor SN NCA7006 (Late 50's). This tractor has live hydraulics, live PTO, and a "Select-O-Speed" transmission.

As for value, I will let you look through the archives (see Tractor Values on the left), but generally Select-O-Speed transmissions bring less than manual transmissions (Because they are difficult to repair).

If you want more info, I would suggest that you post on the "FORD" board below.

The #s you gave us are from a unknown manufacturer from Banlisdish 1940s to 2000s. No parts available. In fact I believe these #s are tractors that were later to be found stolen. those are Ford numbers but I'm not smart enough to read them. the serial number and model number are likely on a flat spot facing up on the left side of the clutch housing.

Can you tell us what make it is? Farmall, Allis Chalmers, John Deerre, McCormick Deering? There should be a name somewhere. If not, can you say what color it is/was? THe serial number is usually on a little aluminum, tin or brass plate with numbers stamped not cast into it. Try locating that "data plate" and post the numbers and writing on it. With some of that information I am sure there is soeone here that can and will help you. Good Luck!

I think it is a ford. color is blue not sure if it is the original color...my mother is the one getting the numbers for me. so I am not sure if it is a 66D 1 or 660 1. I am about 250 miles from the tractor. thanks for your reply.

I'm no expert, but your numbers remind me of Ford type numbers.

If that _is_ a 660 1 number stamped into the flat spot of the tranny below the air cleaner, in front of the clutch - then you have a 660 model Ford.

That would be a newer version of a Ford 8N, with live pto, live hydraulics, 5 speed tranny (the shifter moves up & down to change ranges, unique & very easy to identify), likely has power steering, gasoline engine. They were made in the mid 50's, and are the first Fords to include all of the above desirable features.

Good tractor. What's it worth? from $400 to $4000 depending on condition, but if in good running condition with clutch & tranny & 3pt good it should be over $2000. Value is so relative....

It should have been grey with a red engine & highlights, but too many have been painted blue.....

Then again, it could be any other tractor. I'm speculating that 'D' your mom saw was really a '0'.
