Darnit!

Guess I gotta work on the silly garage door today. :>(

I can get all my tractors and my ol' junker pickup in the garage, but the wife's new car has to set outside, getting frost on the windshield and this is causing some major problems in the administrative allotment and allocation department.

I'm sure it must have something to do with a darned faulty garage door or somptin. It's the only thing I can think of that could cause this difficulty; just don't know what else it could be?

I’m gonna get right on it 'cause I have my eye on a new bench grinder and just can't be havin' the flow of the somewhat rickety family resources interrupted by a goofy little setback such as this.

I’ve got old tractor paint to remove, don’t ya know! :>)

Have a good 'un, ya'll,

Allan

For gosh sakes, get it fixed quick.
If it takes too long (her standards not yours)
you may have to buy her a h***e as a peace offering.

Allan,

This problem is easily solved. Simply buy your bride a new ice scrapper and a pair of warm gloves! If ya really want to impress her, you might spring for a can of the fancy dancy spray de-icer. No more frost problems and your toys get to keep their home.

Allan, When I brought my last tractor home and put it in the garage, the Missus asked where she was now supposed to park her car. I told her "in the driveway where it belongs". I should have been wise to her retaliatory scheming through her lack of immediate response, because guess who gets to get out there and scrape off the windows before she goes to work? Hint: It ain"t her.

Allan watch those high-level discussions or management might pull a NHL and you will have to practice tractor in another country.
Research costs lots of $$$$$, check with the administrative allotment and allocation department to release research funds.
This will give you time to:
1)Make a new entrance (for the car??).
2)Get one of those plastic tent garages (for the car??).
3)Super Size the existing garage (you will need at least 16’ on both sides of the car).
4)Sell the car (if you dare!!).
Now I'm sure negotiation are going to be tough, but old tractors staying outside will lead to a lot of medical problems for them (i.e.) paint, tires, hoses etc.
In your estimate for funds always double what your research found, this way the allocation-administration department will be happy when you come in under budget.
They always like a bargain.

5)Oh just fix the darn door. - Have a good day.

Smithy Cowman? in reply to Nebraska Cowman, 03-05-2005 08:22:28
Seeing as you may have a tailer full... I have a tin smithing anvil that may be right up the line for your shop Howard. I kept it out of my old Hardware store and wondering what to do with it. About five feet long 21/2" to 3" thick with a about 4'of it with a slight curve and the final foot Flattopped for beating on. It pivots in the middle so one end or the other swings out clear from your bench. Kinda hard to describe.

Let's see, you are going to work on the garage door, and somehow make more room in the garage, how does that work? Something to do with the ampacity of the opener maybe?

Gotta be, don't ya think?

A guy has to be careful in situations like this, as the alternative retributions could be disastrous if left untreated. :>)

If you make it work you might fill me in on the details. I've got one old ford truck heading up the road today because there just wasn't room for it in the garage anymore. Probably would have sold this one even if I did have room.

Okay,

I'll post back just as soon as I can find the broken part.

We are in the middle of high-level discussions at this very moment, negotiations simply are not going well and the management seems to be of the opinion that the underlying difficulty just might lie in another area.

The suggestion has been offered that perhaps one of the old tractors stay outside. I am doing research now, as I'm sure that this unfounded cure is at the very least immoral, if not downright illegal. Who ever heard of a red tractor setting outside in the frost, for goodness sake?

I’m getting’ a second opinion! :>)

Allan;

It seems to me the answer is so simple. Move the least most valuable peice of equipment outside and put wifes car inside. In your case Allan, leave the old junker pickup outside.

Hi Steve,

How's things down in the "Paradise"? :>)

This woman is a tough negotiator, bypassed all other options and went straight for the jugular.

Something about my finding a different domicile?

What the heck is that anyway? How in the world can I reason with her and prove her thinking wrong,if she insists on using big words that I can’t understand? Geeeze! :>)

Paradise?

Well,it dont get as cold here.Otherwise we pay the same high prices as anyone else.

I guess when it comes to dealing with your bride of___years just remember this little line.

He rules the roost; But she rules the rooster.

and then there is this one.

Dont goose the cook; Or your goose will be cooked.

Hope the rest of you day goes well and you can get the ampacity of the garage door figured out.
