was thinkin about this over lunch, just had to ask! lol
but what is your guys fav. meal after a long morning of balin hay, plantin, ect,ect.

I just like an old fashioned ham, turkey, or bologna sandwich and a really cold glass of milk. After a hard day in the heat and dust I just like to eat something cold. Then a couple of cold ones when the sun goes down...

Something not too heavy or greasy.The meat has to be lean and no gravey on anything. More fruits and vegatables than just starch from potatoes or flour. Lots of liquids to re-hydrate. A meal from MeDonalds seems to put the body on self defence mode. And passes the poison as soon as possible.

My favourite packed lunch was cheese and tomato sandwiches and a flask of coffee. I know us English are famous for drinking tea but coffee always keeps better in a flask.

As for MacDonalds.....

The Fraulein I knew was rather light & fair but very German. If it's a barley pop than it has to be brewed to the Bavarian Standard. Only pure water, hopps, years and grain. No additives.

Funny you should mention "favorite meal" and "ethanol" in the same post. . . Actually, a home barbecued cheeseburger, some of the Mrs. potato salad, maybe a home grown ear of corn, washed down with a couple of cold Buds.

Funny you should mention cheeseburger, a good home cooked cheeseburger with some fixins on top is one of my favorites. Maybe we will have them this week, haven't for a while.

Have the same lunch about 360 days a year. Mainly cause it's quick. Deli ham on whole wheat bread, much cold tea in summer, acup of nuked coffee from breakfast mixed with whatever old cookies around house; check for phone messages & run. On the way to the truck in the lane, grab an apple from the tree if. All this in 20 min or less.

Not just the healthiest thing, but here's what hits the spot for me;

Wheat toast with cheese spread. three strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, hasbrowns, and washing it down with one or two cold beers.

Can't do that too often, but consider it a reward for an especially hard days work.

If I had just spent a long morning of puttin up hay, lunch wouldn't cut it. It would have to be dinner. Fresh picked corn on the cob, vine ripened tomatoes, fresh dug potatoes, and roast beef. For supper, I would want the same thing, but we could substitute the beef for either pork chops or fried chicken.

geez rusty ill put your hay up this year if i get some of that supper your talking about. i cant even get the mrs to cook like that on a good day let alone on a day after putting up hay. she drives the tractor and she says shes hot and she aint cookin ussually get stuck with pizza or fast food. i say wahtever keeps the lady happy cuase if she aint happy no one in the house is happy and if shes happy ya just might get a back rub. all washed down with a couple pabsts

A sliced turkey breast sandwich on home-made bread with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo....applesauce and some tater chips...washed down with a Diet Coke.

No beers til the work is done...and then watch out.
