Got a phone call last night that had me going for a few minutes. It was a "relay call". The phone company operator was handling a relayed "text message" from someone who was supposedly deaf. (I highly doubt they really were) It was in regards to an add I have on the photo adds. The very nature of the call caught me off guard. (I suppose that was its intent) At first it seemed sort of "legit". Then it started to sound OH SO FAMILIAR. A "foriegn caller" from a source the operator never got the opportunity to elaberate upon, wanted to send me a cashiers check for $1000 (To purchase an item for sale @ $100 ????) Well, you know the rest of the scam.... The operator would (serving ONLY as an operator) type my reply, then read me the reply typed by the "deaf caller". I had her to type ONE WORD.... S.C.A.M. The caller immediately hung up. I'm sure the "goal" was to confuse. In my add, there is (of course) a photo, a complete description, and a price. The first thing I was asked was for a descrption AND A PRICE. BIG RED LIGHT..... SO... If you get a strange call in regards to any adds you're running, be carefull. The creativity of the thieves of the world is on the rise.
