Hi Rich, I have a 1650 diesel and a friend of mine has a 656 diesel with a loader on it and they're both great tractors. They've all got their pros/cons, the 1650/1655(basically same tractor) will out pull the 656 all the time, is better starting, easy to work on, and has more gears than the 656. The 656 has nicer power steering, better brakes,(nice colour too, though the fact that he recently painted it could have something to do with it :>D ). If your using it alot for baling and pulling I would opt for a 1650, you got more gears and the over/under/direct is nice for baling. The 1650 also has an almost indestructible PTO - great for baing AND easy to fix... I like the 3pt on the 656 better though, actually I think the entire hydraulic system is better on the 656. If you were going in for precision grading/snowplowing/loading or more utiity jobs I would pick the 656. Given what you say your going to be using it for though, I would opt for the 1650/1655 as long as it has over/under shift on it. How many acres are you running? A 656 or a 1650 is not a huge amount of tractor to be a main one... God bless, and let me know what you get in the end :) Pawel
