Steve,

Took the wife out fer a little ride in the country tonight and had to stop and have a visit with the resident foreman on this old farm. Even took his picture!

He doesn't say much; kinda like the Cowman, but I got the distinct impression that he really wants somewhere around 70 acres of sod turned before the 10th of September.

If all this comes to pass within the next few weeks, maybe you and ol' Migraine out in the Northewest could come up here and give me a hand?

You can run my 966 and Migraine can bring his own beast, okay? :>)

Allan

Now Allen if you will divulge the location of that place in an email. I would love to come out there and plow for 4 or 5 days. The only red I plowed with was a cub, have used green 730 with 3-14's and 1600 with 3-14's. If you was closer I would furnish a 1650 with 4-16 and my own fuel. I have drug a 16/18 harrowgator over 200+ acres a year for many a year(was my favorite job), also disked 12' and planted with 4-38. I would like to pull that cultivator you got.
Good luck with your place
Ron

Howdy Allan,

Sure looks like a beauty of a farm. Hope it works out super for ya buddy. As fer as that plowin goes, if I could just go 40 years into the future and sneak out a little retirement money from the job I don't have yet, I'd set myself up with a nice pickup and trailer so I could haul my JD R and 4 bottom up there to give ya a hand. Heck, I'd even get you a pair of tinted sunglasses so it would look red and not hurt your eyes so bad ha ha! God bless ya buddy.

Allan,

You sure have long legs. Har Har.

Nice field.

You're too young for a migrain anyway.

Mark

Are you sure that is a Jack rabbit? Looks like a Cotton tail to me. Jack rabbits ar getting scare and land with them is valued higher.

LOL,

Naw, he's a young baby jack all hunkered down. Place is loaded with 'em; hasn't been anyone living out there for the past 10 years or so. :>)

Got your package in the mail. Bless your heart, thanks for the extra effort!

By the shadow the man cast he must be a tall fellow! Looks to be early sixties and smiling. Couldn't help but notice the forest on the left hand side of the one photo too.

Hi Slo,

I must truly be anti-social.

We spent about an hour and a half out there because we wanted to have a look at a remote calving area and we had never really looked closely at one 70-acre field, which had been sown to grass sometime in the not too distant past.

The only living creatures we encountered were that young jackrabbit, three antelope and one redheaded cock rooster pheasant, standing firmly in the middle of the front yard declaring his dominance. Also, three coyotes were havin' a bit of a pow-wow just over the hill to the west.

I Dunno, be it right or wrong, we just might do this thing.

Allan

Looks great to me! You will have an open front porch with a big oak rocker right? (that is more a statement than a question Allan.) Ever see the movie "Secondhand Lions"? My prayers are with you buddy! Good luck! BIllyO

Boy!

Couldn't agree more. Who in his right mind would buy a farm as a toy?

Plumb stupid idea; 'course, I'm full of stupid ideas, always have been. :>)

In a bas-akwards sorta way, I did the same thing.... If the farm woulda been sold off, I'd be on easy street about now. Enough cash for a dozen lifetimes...As it is, we make a decent income, but will never be cash rich. (But as YOU know Allan, there's a number of ways to gauge wealth. Not least of which is happiness. I sure hope you get what you want, 'cause Lord knows you earned it. Good luck Mr. Farmer!)

Looks great buddy, wow what I couldn"t do with that mess over on the left. All I need is a trailer big enough to haul 36,000 lbs. Keep up the good work. Looks like this place has already had it"s affect on you. You"re looking a lot taller these days, Harley
