Like Galen said, NAA was the replacement for the 8N. It was more modern, more power, live PTO & hydaulics, overhead valve engine. It is a very creditable tractor to this day. Ford called all their tractors from 1939 to 1955 N-something. 9N because the first one was made in 1939, 8N because the first one was 1948. I not sure about the "AA". The NAA was 1953 and 1954, in 1955, Ford went to the number nomenclature-600 series-800 series, etc. just my $0.02

Even some of the "hundred" series had a alpha designator. Like "NDA" was (I think) a 650.The letters (again, I THINK) had something to do with type of fuel and engine designation also. Post this on the Ford 9N,2N, 8N board - they will let you know.

NAA is the replacement for the 8N. Built in 53 & 54. 1953 being the "Golden Jubilee" due to it being the 50th anniversary of Ford. 1954 being a "Jubilee". Live Hydraulics, not live PTO, ecept on rare tractors.

1953 was the 50th year for ford that was the year they made the golden jubilee. In 1954 they made the naa. The emblem in front had naa on it. And in 1953 it had golden jubilee.

Accually - if memory serves - the hood emlem for 1954 didn't have any writing on it, just stars. Technically - it's not a "Jubile", but is usually called one.

The hood emblem for the Golden Jubilee (NAA '53) and the '54 NAA are both available on the stores on this site. The '53 sayes Golden Jubilee around the outside, the '54 just has stars.

You can identify the production year by the serial number. Serial numbers from NAA1 - NAA77474 are Golden Jubilees. Larger serial numbers are '54 NAA. (Thank you John Smith). You might want to check out John's website. It is very informative on identifing Ford Tractors.

This gives a definition on the different letters used by the designers to identify Ford tractors.
