here in southern ohio it seems like its taking the country it is behind almost every gardrail and bridge you come to on the state highways, i dont know if people just dont realize what it is or just dont care, its on a couple rented farms of ours, last year after bushogging about8 acres of it on a abandon paster feild it made me as sick as i have ever been, a few facts i thought i mite share about it
1 every part of the plant is poisonous
2 the seeds have the highest concentration of toxins
3 breathing the pollin can cause toxic reactions
4 the roots are deadly 5 tea from the roots is deadly
6 commonly mistaken for wild carrott, water hemlock, cow parsnip, white top, 7 it will completely take over ive seen little thickets were it has choked out locust trees well i have vented enough, watch out for poision hemlock its bad news and its takeing over, also it will kill cows when rolled up in hay my 2cents

Oh yeah, I always have a plant or two by the yard fence along with the marijuana. Never gave it much though, I've been chopping musk thistles.

The best description I can think of is that it looks like an overgrown Queen Ann's Lace. Here's a pic....

Here in NY they call it giant hog weed. It causes contact dermatitis, blisters, rash and extreme sensitivity to sun light. So don't chop it down. You're likely to get some on you. If you got some on your hand and rubbed your eye it could cause irreversible damage to your cornea. I haven't read that it is deadly however.

It is very deadly!!!!! !!!!! !!!

While it is true that few humans are killed by it in this country it will kill you if you eat it.

Since we are not in the habit of getting our food from the woods we do not eat it. It is a part of the Parsley, Caraway, and Carrot family and the roots and leaves look like these other plants.

Most of the problem comes with live stock eating it. 1 to 2 pounds of the leaves will kill a cow.
