I am having a hard time getting any information about 515 sickle mowers for a Ford 8N tractor. I am having a hard time getting the hydraulic to lift the mower. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Could you also make a suggestion as to where I could get a manual? Thank you.

Keith your New Holand dealer can get you a book for 17.00 ( less than 20.00 anyway). You must have a draw bar to hook the chain to or it won`t lift worth a hoot.Ford made a kit to use a 515 on a 2n,9n,or 8n. Good luck kjm

Manuals for this mower are readilty available on the internet. Just do a search for Ford 515 manual.
I have one of these mowers and they really aren't that heavy - sounds like a hyd problem with your tractor. The Ford 8N hydraulics is a self contained unit under the seat built right into the axle housing. Sorry I don't know squat about them! My tractor is a Farmall 350 that has the 3 pt hitch installed and uses an external cylinder to lift the link arms.

Post on the 8N board - send a notice to Ed Gooding - he has manuals for nearly everything Ford made!
