In spite of the weather the winter wheat started to turn colour this week and the heads are starting to droop. Very little percipitation this year. The snow melt at the end of March, another snow melt the end of April and just 2-3/4 " of rain. 2-1/4" fell about 10 days ago when the wheat was filling out the heads.

They finished cutting our wheat last night at 11. Should all be done with in a few more days in Texas panhandle and cutters are moving to Colorado and some are headed south by the coast to start on milo. Above average crop here at least where the hail hadn't hit. Leaf rust hurt a lot of fields this time from the wet spring and that wheat didn't finish maturing and fell over.

Here in central Kansas, the wheat harvest is winding down. I would guess 75%-80% complete. Been hot and dry the past 4 days which makes for excellent harvesting. About aveage crop here.

When you give crop reports, or weather reports, please tell us what part of the country you are in. You may have done this previously, and I missed it. Here in east central Nebraska, wheat is coloring up. I don't know how to estimate it but would say another week they will be rolling.

In the Mid-South (USA), I'd say it's 90% or better harvested and double-crop beans in the ground at about the same level
