Hi All, I've got a question - a couple of the guys from the UK were kind enough to answer, but I need the US contingent to help me on a dillemma:

I own a 1967 Massey-Ferguson 135 Gas Deluxe. I know its not the rarest, but it only has 179 hours on it. It was my dad's and it hadn't been used since he died 12 years ago when I was 9, so I sent it last thursday to be repaired as I had planned on starting my own field mowing and custom planting/tillage service with it. I guess, how much is it worth so I can at least insure it? I does have power steering, the belly paint is decent, I cleaned off the grease with industrial cleaner and all I had to do was prime and touch up some rough spots, just the red sheet needs to be repainted and redecaled. It does not have multipower and it has the Z145 Engine block and its a gas. I am having the mechanic put auxillary hydralics on too.

I appreciate any help you all can give me.

Christos

I just paid 3500 for a 70 135 with the auxillary hyd., 5ft brush hog and box blade. It doesn"t have power steering, about 3605 hrs., and great tires with rollbar and canopy.

you can't buy insurance for what is worth. Just use it and enjoy it.

Look to the left and click on "tractor values", you'll get an idea of previous selling prices. This is not accurate, just a way to get an idea of highs and lows. I have a '68 MF135 I bought for $2,500. I then had to rebuild the steering gearbox, and unstick #4 exhaust valve. The PTO clutch is still stuck and won't disengage. The old man that had it suffered from diabetes and used it to visit around his neighborhood. After he died his widow sold it after sitting for 6 years. The point is, I got a good tractor now, and I have about $3,000 invested - about what it's worth. If yours has good paint and sheel metal it may be worth around $5,000 if you find the right buyer.

I shoped a long time for a 135 diesel, my brother has one, great tractor. Would have paid $4500 for the right one. Turned down gas for $3000. Just an opinion. Lou
