Heck, that's nothing, it was 111 here yesterday in the Northern Sacramento Valley of California. I wonder how hot it was at Death Valley?

Suppose to be 101 tomorrow in SE Nebraska. HVAC guy picked a good day to come install the A/C! It sure will be nice to have air conditioning!

WOW, If it gets that hot here, I may have to take the heat houser off the old 730:). Here in central MN we were pushing close to 100 on Sat and Sunday, but it temporarily cooled down to the mid 80's. Supposed to start going back up the last I heard. Wouldn't be so bad if it would scare up some rain. Take care Brokenwrench

Just heard--124 F at Bull Head City AZ. Only 99 here. The joys of being a farmer. Got any flying ants there? Your realy not a farmer until you live with flying ant down you neck. Kennyp, been there and done that. Now under the AC in Colo.

Harley Iknow your son is correct.I do not know how the service men can stand the heat with all the gear they wear and have to carry.I have been to Iraq numerous times.Was in Basrah in 1957 when they had a heat wave and even the natives were complaining. One hundred thirty six degrees every day for 10 consecitive days.I was on board a steam ship in the black gang (enging room).Don"t know what the temp. was cause it broke the thermometer.We could only stay below on watch two hours at a time.The sea temp or river temp in that region stays 104-05 all summer long.Go figure.I know that this seems impossible.

I was in Baghdad for 7 months in 2003, it hits 130+ in August, nights it cools down to 105 - 110. I weighed myself without gear and then with, I was carrying around 60 pounds of body armor, helmet, weapons and ammo. I never thought it could get that hot in my life, it is just unreal. My national guard unit had 30+ purple hearts out of 150 folks, but somebody was watching over us as we didn"t have anybody killed. My prayers go out to anybody whos there and their families back home.
