My friend and I just finished a 3 day tractor ride from Boone, Iowa to Alexander, Iowa (180 mi). 330 units with about 150 support personnel. What a blast!!! First one we'd ever been on and now can't wait for the next one. I highly recommend this kinda fun to any tractor "addict" or even a so-so one! Meet a lot of very good people both in the ride and at the stops. And best of all, no breakdowns except one guy with a flat and one poor gent blew the engine in his JD 60.

Fluggie,
Where are you located? There is going to be a ride in Davis City, Iowa on the 20th and 21st of August. The guy that put it together wanted a ride w/ a purpose the money that is made will be donated to the local schools to help w/ the kids that are below the reading level in their grade. The organizer has contacted a couple local TV stations and also RFD might possibly come cover the ride. I could get anyone that needed infomation, the info. Also, we will ride on Saturday and come back to Davis City, which is south of Leon, Iowa and North of Lamoni, Iowa. Then Sunday we will go on a short ride then come back to Davis City for the Hullinger Reunion, which the guy organizing the ride is a Hullinger, to enjoy a hog roast. Let me know if any of you would like more information on this ride.

I'm from Forest City, north central IA. Thanks for the invite but we have one here in our town that weekend and I am helping organize this one. Sounds like a great Idea tho to "make the ride count for something". Have fun and be sure to enforce the "NO PASSING" rule - safety first.

Hey - kinda like "Rolling Thunder" - only slower...
Sounds like fun - get about 100 tractors going down the road together. I bet some heads would turn!!

The heads DID turn with 330 of us driving by in a matter of a 2 hour window. Cool how anyone that owned a nice old car or tractor parked it by the road for us to see.
