This gas price continually going up needs to come to a stop. I filled up 5 cans, and topped off my truck for $114.00. If we need to drill off the west coast, and drill in Alaska lets do it. I think the tree hugger group needs to be controlled. I don't care what they pay in other countries, and don't compaire gas prices to bottled water. I feel better now, and can go to my night job so I can buy gas for my tractors. Stan in calif

Hello Stan. I do agree with you. The other night I watched a Whitehouse staff member say that even with the high prices, haven't noticed changes in driving habits. That was code for higher prices are coming. Heard a report of downsizing vehicals, just what the "Earth in a balance" tree hugger types wanna hear too. Is a win win on both sides of the political aisle in DC. Those typed to oil of course wanna make money, as I do. And those hugger types love that they're selling hybrids. Both sides complain, all the way through our bank accounts.

This morning, I heard a hugger type from Texas on the radio that said "I'm glad of the high prices, will force more to drive and pollute less". And I thought to myself, what a moron. Doesn't realize that feeder cattle eat grain, thinks they grow in a forest. Doesn't realize poultry eat grain, they grow naturally in a forest too. And you get the idea. All kinds of crops. Last year crops went unpicked because couldn't afford the LP for the grain dryers and had to cut losses, so they rotted in the fields. This year, even higher LP prices, and add drought and higher diesel prices. Gotta cut losses again. Less grain means less or more expensive food at the dinner table, because of supply and demand, and is a domino effect. And that's just grain, not other crops, and none of this takes into account other goods and services that aren't farm related. Then I envisioned that guy from Texas cutting the bark off of his beloved trees to feed his wife and children. Think about folks downsizing their properties because can't afford to mow or upkeep - environmentalists can never get enough wetlands.

You heard that China was backed down from buying Unacol refineries, right? Had they been allowed to go through with that, as a "non-developed" country, even though they make everything, would not be bound by the same environmental standards that we are. That means could and would be drilling off of our coasts, up in Anwar Alaska, and basically anywhere they want in the continental USA, and no one could or would be able to stop them. Yet our own oil companies are not allowed to do so. President Bush got drilling passed in Anwar, the only problem is that it's going to allow TEST drilling in just under 10 years now. That's TEST drilling in Anwar.

Stan, you are preaching to the choir.

Mark
