Bad picture, but it is a fair old truck.

Has 60K and was owned by a city guy who never put it on the gravel. I'll change all that!

Still and all, I hate buyin' pickups! Such a waste of good, earmarked old-machinery money! :>)

Good lookin rig there Allan,my dad had one real similiar to yours, but his was a V10,as they say, pass anything but a gas station :-)

the hitch in mine looks similiar to yours, but my ball has a square end on it,drops down in a square hole, then then pin locks it in thru the side above the tire..one word of advice, keep a little grease on that ball when ya drop it in that socket..mine looked like it hadn"t used in years when I got it,took me HOURS of penetrating oil and a 12 lb. sledge laying on my back to get that upside down ball back out of it"s socket..works good now though :^)
thanks for posting it,
Tim

Hey Tim,

Say, that's one juicy little outfit! But, how come ya got so derned many tires and wheels on the back end? :>)

This old pickup deal ran my allowance clear down to the nubs fer this month. Gotta wait 'til my piggy bank builds back up a little 'fore I can even think about any more toys. :>(

Although, I did get this little trinket installed this morning, which I think is kinda neat.

Allan there is supposed to be a trim piece around the ball socket so the raw edge of the bed is covered. Where's yours?

What does that little gadget do, flip end for end to provide either a ball or a flat bed surface?

Yeah,

It's kind of a neat contraption. Whole thing pulls up outta there and flips upsidedown. The hitch bolts in from the side and they don't have to yank the box anymore.

I dropped the truck off at 8:30 and drove outta there at 11:00. Too darned bad they didn't work over the price a little tho. Still highern' a cat's back for the total package, installed.

Looks like a locking tab at 9:00 to keep it from backing out of the anchor pin.

Yes Sir,

It is kind of a stinker to lock and unlock.

Gotta push in on the retainer, lift and turn, lift and turn again. Hold you mouth just right and then it pops up and out. :>)

Allan, I put the B&W turn over ball hitch in my truck, just reach under the left rear fender, pull a lever, lock a pair of vice grips on to keep it going back in, then reach in, pull the ball up, turn it over, and drop back in. Takes about 30 seconds or less.

No need for vise-grips on the B&W... Mine will stay locked out so I can climb in the bed... Just pull handle, move it toward the cab, let it go & it stays unlocked...

Mine has that feature but I have to pull it out and then downward a little then it will catch and stay open.Just lift up on the handle and it will pop back into place.

Yea the one I had was self locking also. I worked OK but when I sold the pickup I left it in the box. The pickup I now have has one that I made myself. My ball now screws into a nut welded on the bottom side of a sheet of steel bolted to the sides of the frame, reinforced with channel iron. Safety chains hook to iron held on by the ball. Cost ball plus $50 and time. Benfits one hole in bed.
