Picked up a cub 154 at an auction last week. Shifter is real loose and I can"t figure out the shift pattern. It seems to have 2 ranges, but I can"t tell what I am doing to get it from lo to high range. Seems to have at least 4 speeds, perhaps as many as 6 forwards. Any advice would be appreciated.

As if your sitting on it Left down is 1st,left up reverse, right down in 3rd right up is second,Im not 100% sure on the lever for low gears, but one way is low the other is high.Sounds like your shifter has broken.Simple fix but a pain to get to to take off.

What you really need is an operator's manual. Try this site, or try www-dot-binderbooks-dot-com for parts, service, and operator's manuals.

Yeah, I know I should, but I bought it to resell and I was hoping not to have to. Good advice though. Mike
