like was said, not real common anymore. i have some and use it for occasional leaky gearboxs when i don't have time to replace the seals.

Not uncommon in farm stores here- older tractors and machines used 140 weight in some gearboxes.

If you need something heavy to keep in where you've got a bad seal try some semifluid grease. it's pretty much akin to gear lube and grease mixed. It flows pretty good so it won't go to the outside of a gearbox like plain grease would but it's thick enough you can't pour it through a funnel. I recently got a 5 gallon bucket from Lubrication Engineers to put in the rotation gearboxes on a customers rock drills, hopefully to lengthen what's now about a year life expectancy on a $2000+ set of bearings. Like I said I know LE carries it but if you check around I'm sure some others do too.

Thanks to you and riverbend for the info. When the parade special is done I'll post some pix. Back home we used 140 in the finals/diff on the WC. Hard to find the straight stuff the last 10 years.

Here is gal size info for Napa to order if need be.

Sta-Lube

Local stores only carry 1 or 2 qt containers. I don't have any qt size left but will get the p/n if you need it.
