Am I missing something in the news regarding the cost of diesel. Here in Wisconsin, close to $3.30 and $3.10 for off road.

1- oil company profits are up 2 - vice prez held meetings about energy and refused to disclosed what was said 3- there is no real shortage of gas/fuel. some stations do run out for a day or so - you can just go down the street in 99.99% of these locations and get fuel at another station 4 - BIG OIL is in the white house -- we just as well get used to the high prices 5- kerry did want $.50 gas tax. since it has went up over $1.50 under current administration i would rather be paying his $.50 than the current extra $1.50 6 - we are spending close to 1 billion dollars a day in iraq just because they had an evil dictator - just like n korea, iran, china, and several other countries- which one should we invade next? if freedom is good for iraq then isn't it also good for all the other oppressed people in the world? 'nuff said --

diesel northern il rockford area 3.17 per gallon. farm diesel delivered monday 2.80 b10 mix
now heres what makes no sense to me
WOODMANS IN ROCKFORD IL (i highlight to emphasize this is anyone lives in this area to go there)
2.69 for onroad green diesel fuel????? ????? ?????//////// i asked they arent selling it at a break even point, they arent selling it at a loss????? ????? ????? ????? ????? ????// as far as volume they arent huge (not bigger then bp or road ranger). but they do they do recieve shipments every other day. I for the life of me cannot understand how they sell it at that price. i DID check the fuel economy with the semi, 5.3 last fuel i got there. it always always ranges between 5 and 6. infact when fueling at murphys i usually get closer to 5mpg. i dont figure this out.

How long are we goin to take it? Are we all just lacky's for the oil industry? Lets look at Dick Cheneys stock options and the fact he recieve 3200 percent increase last year. No.. our goverment is out of touch and really could care less if we struggle. I made the mistake of voting for Bush but that's something I can correct. Can we all say president Cheney get ready folks.

Guy's its for the most part supply and demand. Oil production remains about level yet people in China, india ect, have improving life styles thanks to makeing all of our products for us and they want thier own suvs to. In this country we have not built a refinery for 30 years because of enviromental wacko's. With 20% of our refinery's down, guess what, no place to refine crude resulting in higher prices for the fuel that is refined. Bush Cheney have pushed hard for increased oil exploration and building more refinery's, more bio fuel's, reducing EPA formulation rules and on and on but the enviro wacko's say no dice. Increased suppy equals lower prices. The goverment has to get out of the way not get more involved, name one govermental program that has worked, you can't because not one ever has. I remember Kerrey calling for more gas taxes because gas was to cheap in the US compared to his France. If he were elected we would have $5 diesel now. Rant over.

You should see how many refineries closed over the years, and not because of air pollution or the EPA!~ I saw a news report that 11 refineries closed in the around '00. MSNBC-

Well most of those refineries that closed were small or in "sensitive areas" and could not get permited to expand or to improve facilities to produce the new enviro freindly fuels. So there was little choice but to close them down. Just more intrusive big goverment regs and enviromental wackos at work!

Since 1976 over 50 refineries have closed in the US without a single new refinery being built. Since the year 2000 the production of fuels based on grain alcohols has tripled.

Hate to put it to you guys this way, but most likely this is how it's going to be.(basically the industry is saying that if you want a clean environment, you will have to pay for it) These prices are paying for the preperation for the 2007 ultra low sulfur diesel regulations. I've read several diesel industry magazines that tell on and off highway folks to prepare for $4/gallon diesel. I contemplated buying a new diesel pickup this year, but when you math it out, it will be significantly cheaper to drive a hemi powered truck vs. the Cummins just from the fuel cost aspect.

I think I would be more worried about if I could get some fuel rather than what price it was.

$3.13 for road fuel here in SE La. It may be red or it may be green. Depends on what we can find that day. We are working on a waiver because low sulfer road fuel is hard to come by.

I just got off the phone with my driver giving him backup suppliers because we are out of allocation at the supplier we were trying to load off of. I know of small truck stops in the area that are closed half the day because they have already sold their allocation from all suppliers for the day.

What part of " Bend Over " don't you get?? A buddy of mine is a cross-country trucker. He fueled -up in Calif. 2 weeks ago and spent $673.00 at the pumps. There is going to have to be a " TEA PARTY " and everyone is invited.... Another thing that gets my goat is . What do fuel prices have to do with natural gas prices??? There is no refining involved in natural gas hence the name " natural gas "....We gotta do something instead of just taking it in the wazoo.

Uh, yeah there IS refining in NG. If there's methane and other gases they have to be separated. Pure natural gas has no odor so they add methyl mercaptin(sp?) so you can detect a leak.

We paid $3.22 to fill the pickup and $2.72 to fill the fuel barrel. Suppose it will ever go back down to last year's price?

Well, here in good old south central Missouri today gas was 2.26 & off road diesel was 2.80. Sure glad I fill my tanks when off road was 1.89 and I thought I was being robbed. Oh well....

gas is $2.26??? Where do you live, heck it would almost pay me to drive over there and bring a few tanks to fill up :) West Tn gas is $2.92 road diesel is $3.19-3.29, off road is around $2.79 and bio will run about .10 higher than offroad per gallon.

50 miles northeast of Springfield. Hope its not to high down there I have to make a trip to Martin in the next few days however I can usually make it back to Poplar Bluff before I need to refuel..... ..

filled up 1 tank on tractor last night 3.19 per gall for on road fuel ,the farm I help burns enough fuel a day that 1 trailer load of grain goes for fuel only .

I was quoted $2.93 for farm fuel yesterday in
western ohio.A friend of mine who hauls fuel said it was $2.50 for a semi load.

The oil companies are making obscene profits this year, its all coming right out of your pockets and mine.

I used to be a fan of Bush, but as he hasn't done anything to reign in the pillaging that the oil companies are doing I have lost a lot of respect for him.

The oil industry is going to find itself regulated with a limit on what their profit can be per gallon if they don't watch out.

60 Billion in profit, and I think that was just for the first half or first 3 quarters of this year between the 3 ( I think ) big oil companies.

Sure, the hurricanes hurt production capability, yes China and India are using more oil so crude prices might go up with more worldwide demand...but when the big domestic oil companies are making that much money in spite of all that, they are making at the expense of you and I.

You can't regulate the profit per gallon oil companies make any better than you can regulate the cost of prescription drugs when your lawmakers are all indebted to the industry.
