Im thinking about adding propane to my Cummins Dodge. Im just wondering if it's worth it? Im looking at the bully dog kit, it $689.95 at Summit. Will this ever pay for it self in better mileage?

Be careful of power chips that show big mpg gains. Like buickanddeere said, these guys are recalibrating your odometer to make their chip look good. Check the miles on the highway against the mile markers over about 10 miles. You will easily see if it has been tampered with.

Dad has always said you have to pay to play. That chip puts in more fuel to make the power. More fuel equals less economy. I never heard of anyone that turned the fuel up on a farm tractor claim that it now burns less fuel.

ive checked the milage with a GPS and its correct. i also check mpg by filling tank and then refilling tank and devide miles by gallons used. ive also been a diesel mechanic for 35 years, kinda know a little about them. i dont pay the big bucks for junk. it had a 30 day money back warrenty. i made sure i checked it out before that was up.

Great! That's one that should be on the recommend list then. I've seen a few frauds before.

The chip just re-writes the computer code to make the mileage look better than what it is. Do a careful check over a few tanks of fuel. LP vapour injection works fine on turbo diesels. Injecting liquid LP after the intercooler really wakes them up.

If ya want a Cummins to run the people to talk to is Bruce or Gary from Pittsburg Power or the old diesel injection they have been doing Cummins for a lot longer As we always called them the hot rod shop for Cummins i have knowen them since 78 and when i got my 12 valve cummins i gave Bruce a call and we talked for over and hour and half and he told me what to do for mine and what i needed if i wanted to go higher but then again i know how to work on diesels but the 5.9 was new to me back then and i did not want to get to carried away the good thing was what i did with mine did not COST me any money other then one screw to replace the tamper proof one that i had to remove . Tampper proof they have never made such a thing .

sisters boyfriend got the bullydog down load for his 2004 dodge cummins... gets 22-24 mpg.
plus you can set the power lower or higher..
and man can that thing sh!t and GIT! cost him $1,000 or so... kinda salty but worth it I think.
