Hello, i have a john deere 3020 gas and was wondering what make snow blower works best behind a jd 3 point. woods, farm king, loftness. i was not at this auction to day up north but a 7" forage king went for 275.00...and it was nice...i thought that was a good price...i should have been there but then it would have brought 850.00... i have thought about a pull behind but do you fellows think about that type. i can get a new walco for 2300.00 but i do not want to spend more than 800.00 i have a 7" mckee bros. but have not used it at all as i got it with my wd45 and when i put it on the front end got super light like a had power steering (hugh)THATS WHEN I HAD TO FORK OUT FOR A JD 3020. maybe i will try the mckee bros. first on the 3020 and then see what happens... i just posted it on the hauling list to see if i can get it up to walker, mn. thanks in advance,

Gary r, voigt

I suggest getting the blower you have mounted, as you will be using it in about 24 hours - our forcast is not too good, had a thunderstorm 2 days ago, winter storm warning for tomorrow. :) :) Most any good 7 or 8 foot 2 stage blower should work fine for you, there are what, 50 different types to be found around these parts? Pick one in good shape.

Unless you have back/ neck issues, a rear-facing 3pt snow blower has the least problems, offers the most bang for the buck, and can do the most for you. Other designs seem to become Rube-Goldberg rather wquickly, and don't hold up very well to serious blowing.

Sorry about that Paul - couldn't keep from sending you this one. This is our 2nd snowfall of 10+ inches already this year. I think this one is going to stay.

I have a 9 foot Buhler/Farm King/Allied. Wonderful machine with zero problems after about 6 years of fairly heavy use. I have the better end of this deal as I supply the blower, my brother supplies the tractor - a 4840 JD.

I have a 6.5' McKee on a WD with some front end weight added. I like my set up but some people don't like all that backing. I'd advise trying the blower you have before investing much in a different one.

That seven foot Mckee will work fine on the back of a 3020. A friend of mine used a 7 foot on the back of a 2010 JD for years and it worked good. Also John Deere snowblowers were actually made by McKee. Just painted green and added JD decals. They are a good machine. My 30 year old 6 foot Mckee has cleared the driveway for me every winter with little more than routine maintenance.
