Hi there I own a 1946 Farmall A tractor and I'm trying to find the points on it. Can anyone offer any help?

If it still has the magneto, remove the distributor cap, then pull the rotor. There is a plate underneath that then must be removed, the points are under it.

That's not quite right. If he removes the two screws under the magneto's distributor cap and removes the plate, he will only expose the two little gears that turn the rotor. The next thing, he will have those gears out of time!

To access the points, LEAVE THE AFORE MENTIONED PLATE ALONE!!!!! !!!!

There are three screws that attach the whole end casting to the mag. Remove them, and pull the whole assembly off. This will keep the gears in time. When putting it back on, turn the rotor drive until it indexes with the flat on the mag shaft, next to the breaker point cam.
