Kyhayman, I'm located just down the road from you in Edmonson Co. near Nolin Lake. Have my house done and about 90% complete on the shop. Due mostly to construction I have a lot of bare ground. A local farmer suggested that I plant some Kentucky 31 on the frozen ground. "Don't Worry it will come up this coming spring" Says He. All told I have about 4+/- acres to plant. What do you think?
Thanx Earl

Kyhayman is correct. We've had good luck in KY by sowing fescue or clover over a good snow cover, Febuary or later. Of course, with this drought a good snow may be a ways off.

Thats probably good advice, but I'd wait a few weeks and put out a mix of KY 31 and some kind of small grain. No use taking a chance and getting a week like this one where it will sprout in the 60's and then perish in the 20's in a few days.

I survived, all was good, we had a little wind, and a little rain, then a nice rainbow. Some of my neighbors got hit hard though.

I"ll be travelling the next 2 weekends so no sales for me. Got a photoshoot in Bowling Green this weekend and then to Nashville for American Farm Bureau. Shooting in Cleveland then next weeked.
