Looking for a site that give cross reference information for v-belts. Also wold like a site that gives the dimensions for the belt. Currently have a Dayco Belt, at least that's what I beleive it is. The number on it as best I can make it out is L545.

Thanks..
Bill

there should be another number in front of the L, either a 3,4,5
3L is 3/8
4L is 1/2
5L is 5/8
the 545 is 54.5" long, if it was a 5l500, it would be 5/8 X 50 inches long
Gate sizes are real confusing, the 10 or 67 series is 3/8" with the last two being size the 20 or 68 series are 1/2 by the last two numbers being the lenghth, and the 30 or 69 series are 5/8" by the last two numers are lenghth. These measure the INSIDE diameter of the belt, the A,B,C,D,E series belts measure the outside diameters of the belts, makes it a little more confusing to measure.

WSM, I agree with John that most parts places will be able to measure and cross it over for you quickly. Auto supply or industrial supply. To cross it online you will need the length and width if no cross number charts are there. You can also poke around at www.grainger.com or www.motionindustries.com or find a site for Gates belts.

WSM (same as the old original Clear Channel 50,000 watts Nashville AM 650 Grand Ole Opry Radio Station, correct??)

Measure the outside length of that belt n see if its 54.5 inches????? Im thinkin/guessing thats what the 545 stands for. I think the L represents the width (is it like 1/2 or 5/8 etc. wide ???) On Gates brand belts they are like A is 1/2 and B is 5/8 etc wide, but Im unsure on the Dayco.

This may get you in the ballpark till you get the correct info, but most auto stores can match that number up for ya or even measure its width n length with one of those belt measuring devices usually hangin near the belts.
