I'm not even gonna try posting pics, so here is the url of all the pics showing the crane in action, and close ups. I retract my earlier statement about support under the crane. Unless you are only lifting bags of peanuts, definitely put support underneath. I just took the scissor jack out of my car, and am gonna bolt that under there. The hole is already there thru the crane, so just have to drill the plate. Then if I need it, I just crank it down. That will provide more than enough support considering the crane is only rated for 1/2 ton.

Here is the album.. Link

Here is a picture of my outrigger and dimentions.
main tube is 1 1/2 with 3/8 in holes drilled 1 apart. Slide is made from 2 inch tubing with 2 inch OD round tubing 5 inches long welded to the square tube. I welded 2 1/4 square tubing underside of trailer trailer frame.

With the round sliding inside square tubing, if load brings weight down to hard on outrigger foot all I do is either drive forward or backup off my outriggers.

I do not pin my outrigger so they will turn, and are easily removed.HTH

I have one sort of like that on the bed of my truck. I have had problems with almost laying the truck over when I pick up things way to the side. I have been thinking about some sort of out rigger my self. I broke it at the base one time also tring to pick up a 6 foot bruch hog.
